The Galleries Shopping Centre in Wigan hosted an event to help raise money for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust’s Three Wishes Charity.

The ‘One Great Day’ event consisted of tombola, face painting, hook-a-duck, a magician, homemade scones and a special, sweet treasure hunt around 11 shops in the shopping centre.

There were also special guests in attendance, including Three Wishes’ own Albert the Bear and 10-month-old, Isabelle-Clare Whitley, who is a finalist for Mini Miss Natural Beauty, England.

Isabelle-Clare is currently preparing for the final which is set to take place on 23rd June, 2019 and has been tasked with helping out local communities as part of the process.

And as Isabelle is only turning one year old in just over a months’ time, her mum, Kellie, was also keen to give out a helping hand.

Kellie, 27, from Aspull, Wigan, has two other sons, Kadon (eight) and Leo (six), who have been diagnosed with multiple health problems and have spent a lot of time at the different sites of WWL.

Leo suffers with Albinism and spends a lot of time at the Trust’s Boston House site and with National Albinism Awareness Day on 13th June, the family want to raise awareness.

The two boys also find it hard socialising when they are out in public places, so one of Kellie’s goals is to make Isabelle-Clare confident as she grows up.

Kellie, who also has health problems, said; “Getting out and about with my children, especially Isabelle-Clare, has really helped me grow as a person.

“The NHS has really helped us and we just wanted to show our appreciation,” said Kellie.

Janet Pennington, Three Wishes Fundraising manager, who also attended the event, said; “It was really nice to see Isabelle and Kellie come along on Saturday to help out.

“They both handed out tombola tickets and looked after the hook-a duck stand, even though Isabelle-Clare wanted to get in the paddling pool herself.

“I wish her the best of luck for the final”.
