Are you looking to improve your general fitness, shift a few pounds and meet new friends? Have you ever considered joining your local running club? Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers are a friendly, mixed ability running club that will help you achieve your goals.

Training

Our training sessions are at 6:45pm every Thursday evening. We meet near the sports hall at West Lancashire College, Skelmersdale, College Way, WN8 6DX (for sat navs use WN8 6LH). There are two running groups nicknamed the ‘Bandits’ and the ‘Rebels’ that set off from The College around 7pm. The Bandits run is usually between 6 and 8 miles, whereas the Rebels run is usually between 5 and 6 miles at a slower, more casual pace. The sessions are between 60 and 80 minutes and all abilities are welcome. During sessions, we do a mixture of training styles including timed efforts, hill runs as well as slower paced runs with fewer rest stops in between. Training in the winter months tends to be focused on road running (high vis vests and head torches needed), whereas Spring/Summer training often takes place on the trails and paths around Ashurst Beacon, Beacon Country Park and Dalton. We always ensure no-one is left behind and we pride ourselves as being a very friendly and supportive running club.

Joining Us

The first two runs with the club are free and are regarded as taster sessions for people interested in joining. After that each run is only £1.20, which contributes towards the changing room facilities we hire at West Lancs College.
