Over the weekend police officers responded to an incident in which a 16 year old boy was stabbed whilst walking along the footpath of Firbeck with his girlfriend. He was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery and has been released today to recover further.
On Monday, a 16 year old boy was charged in connection with this incident and is currently awaiting sentencing.
Skelmersdale Police would like to reassure everyone that we are doing our utmost to tackle knife crime in Skelmersdale, but appeal to the public to talk to your children about the importance of personal safety and being a responsible member of the community.
Skelmersdale Police remind everyone that there are two permanent knife amnesty bins located at Tanhouse Community Centre and Digmoor Community Centre. You can surrender any weapons, completely anonymously, without having to enter the centres, no questions asked.
