Skelmersdale u3a’s June Picnic was a small gathering in Beacon Park with a flag, laughter, and much fun.

The programme for the rest of the year includes talks covering the Martin Mere, Coronary Care, and of course the Christmas Lunch. From one end of the scale to the other.

This has been an opportunity to review the groups and look for other activities. The July meeting on Thursday 21st, Stephen Williams will talk about the Lakeland disused railway lines, their stories and how some of them are now footpaths and cycle ways. Many ideas for future walks and rambles there in his talk Lakeland Lines.

We have a new regular meeting place in Skelmersdale Library, Southway, at 2pm on the third Thursday of the month. u3asites.org.uk/skelmersdale
