How often do you check your bank statements? Daily, weekly, monthly or perhaps as and when. Do you check each transaction, each debit or do you just look at the balance?

Skemnews has been told, by an avid reader, that she has experienced an attempt to take money from her account by a fraudster. The amount wasn’t sufficient enough to standout in a cursory look at her statement.

Our reader thought something wasn’t right with her statement and looked at each transaction. This was how she spotted the attempts to take the money from her account.

The lady then spoke with the her bank and they confirmed that the attempts to take the money were indeed fraudulent. It must be said that the bank did not pay any money out to the scammers.

We would ask everyone to check their bank accounts regularly and more importantly report every “iffy” transaction to your bank.
