As part of their commitment to the education and careers of current and future students, West Lancashire College held a number of initiatives in celebration of National Careers Week, which took place 6-10 March.
College students and local school pupils benefited from a number of careers related activities, including the College’s annual Careers & Progression Fair which hosted over forty employers and universities, all there to provide invaluable careers advice and activities to inspire young people about their future careers and the opportunities available.
The college also hosted workshops for students with Job Centre Plus, Boost Lancashire, FutureU and the Apprenticeship team from West Lancashire College, covering information on business start-up, applying to university, becoming an Apprentice and self-employment.
The college would like to thank the following employers who gave up their time to attend the event: About The Town, Bannatynes, Booths, Careers in Blue, Coop Bank, Edge Hill University, Faithfull Tools, Future U, Graylaw International, Great Bear, HCRG Care Group, Homes Instead, ISG, Job Centre Plus, Keep Moat, Kuehne-Nagel, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, Lancaster University, Liverpool John Moores University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Matalan, NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB, North West Timber Treatments Ltd, NSG, Open Reach, Peel Ports, PepsiCo, Robertsons, Roq, St Richard Primary School, Stocks Hall, Tawd Valley Developments, The Army, UCLAN, University of Bolton, UPS, West Lancashire Borough Council and the West Lancs Crisis Centre.
