BEST WISHES FROM ALL AT SKEM UTD
After just the one season Michael Howard will be leaving Skem to join NPL Premier side Warrington Town, Michael has really set the JMO & the North West Counties alight with his performances that have seen him net 33 goals this term including two hat tricks, against Retford in the 9-0 drubbing in the FA Vase and more impressively all three of our goals in the league encounter against Padiham, plus the never to be forgotten 4 goal haul that sealed our promotion at Cinderford Town.
Paul McNally said “Before the season started, I had one player on our radar that I desperately wanted to sign and that was Mikey, I was more than delighted when we finally got him, I said at the beginning of the season I don’t know how long we will have him but I had confidence that he would come up with the goods.”
“To give credit to him there have been a number of teams wanting to prise him away but he has stuck with us, mainly due to his enjoyment at the club and the fact he was scoring goals.”
Michael started his young career of at Preston NE and has seen him also on the books of Cork City & Morecambe where he scored in a EFL Cup game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
McNally continued “A lot of young lads who are released from League club’s Academy’s fall by the wayside, it takes a strong character to go down the leagues and work their way back up, Michael is one of those characters. He is joining Warrington Town, two divisions above and I’m sure he will impress and go further up the leagues with the right guidance, Mikey leaves with our blessings and our best wishes going forward in his career.”
“I will always be a Skem fan” said Michael speaking to the club’s media team, “A massive thanks to Paul McNally for bringing me in, having faith in me and allowing me game time and a platform for me to enjoy my football again.”
“To play in all 52 games and score 33 goals is something I have not achieved before and I could not have done it without a great set of lads around me”
Mikey went on to thank the supporters “the fans have been brilliant and have been behind me from the very first day, I wish them all well in the future and hope the club can build on the success we have had this season”
It goes without saying that everyone here at Skem wishes Michael all the very best and we will certainly keeping an eye on his progress.
