It has been reported that customers who use BACS to make payments to Companies House will need to use the new Companies House bank account details from 1 September 2020.

The change in status for Companies House from a trading fund to a central government organisation means that they are changing the type of bank account. Companies House must now use a bank account which is under the Government Banking scheme.

Customers who need to make a BACS payment, will find the new bank account details and instructions for paying Companies House on letters, which are sent from Companies House from 1 September 2020. Companies House have also updated their bank details in any online guidance and emails.

The old bank account for Companies House will stay open for 6 months, this will allow for all customers to successfully move over to the new account. The old bank account will then be closed at the end of February 2021.
