Volunteers needed, Match day Secretary, Social Media, Photographers and Match Reporters. Are you game enough for the game?

Skelmersdale United FC is a Club with its roots at the heart of its local community. The role that Skem United plays in the lives of many different groups of people across the town and it provides interest, passion and enjoyment for hundreds of supporters.

The Club is run exclusively by a dedicated band of volunteers – without them we would struggle to operate at our current level. All volunteers are as important as each other to the function of our Club. Some are lifelong supporters of the Club, others are not, but all have a passion to be part of something that makes a positive impact on the lives of others.

The club have current vacancies for Match Day Secretary & in Social Media outlets.


We are seeking an enthusiastic, football loving volunteer to join our administration team.

Danny will stay involved as long as necessary to insure a smooth handover.

  • As the Match Secretary you will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out the football administration duties of the football club, in the main on Matchdays
    • The primary focus being with the First Team, as well as where required assisting with the Club’s Academy and operations.
    • It will be your responsibility to ensure policies and procedures are implemented in line with best practice.

Training will be given to successful applicants.

This is a voluntary unpaid position although travel expenses will be covered by the club for all relevant league meetings.

Applicants must be able to attend all home and away games and all club and league meetings when required.

The club are actively seeking a number of volunteers for roles in the Social Media sector.

Namely, to take on a range of responsibilities including managing the club’s social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with regular scheduled content as well matchday commentary on Twitter from all home games and as many away fixtures as possible.

The club are also looking for volunteers for Club Photographers, Video Editors and Budding journalists to produce Match Reports from United’s first team games.
