You don’t need cash to park with new mobile service

0

You can now pay to park at a number of Lancashire locations with your mobile phone and a credit or debit card, rather than using cash at a machine.

The service began this week for on-street parking in Preston and Lancaster operated by Lancashire County Council, and off-street car parks operated by South Ribble Borough Council and Wyre Council.

It is also available to people using the car park at Preston bus station, and visitors to Lancashire County Council countryside sites at Beacon Fell Country Park, Spring Wood Picnic Site, Wycoller Country Park, Crook O’ Lune Picnic Site and Conder Green Picnic Site.

Advantages of the service offered by RingGo include no longer needing to carry change, and being able to extend your stay remotely without returning to your vehicle. You don’t need to display a parking ticket either, as enforcement officers can check which vehicles are parked using the service with their handheld units.

There are a number of ways to access the service, using a smartphone app, calling, text message or online. Details of how to use it is posted at the locations, or visit www.myRingGo.co.uk to find out more.
