As part of Halton Borough Council’s festive celebrations this year, Widnes town centre will be hosting a traditional Christmas market. The market will be opening on Thursday 26th November and will be running until Monday 28th December. The market will be featuring a selection of specially designed huts, which will be selling a range of Christmas goods and produce.
There will also be rides for children and a giant snow globe experience. Throughout the period of the market on Saturday afternoons there will be performances by brass bands, as well as also being more Christmas themed activities, such as wandering characters, face painting, and balloon modelling.
Cllr Ron Hignett, the Council’s Executive Board member for town centres, said ‘Traditional Christmas markets are really popular and will be a great addition to the town centre, bringing a really festive atmosphere. And with plenty of activities for the children too, the whole family can go along and enjoy the fun of a traditional town centre Christmas.’
