Performance Academy students at West Lancashire College were super excited to welcome West End performer Joseph Dockree to college this week for a West End Theatre Workshop.
Joseph worked with the students to choreograph the Chalk Drawing Scene – Jolly Holiday for their forthcoming production of Mary Poppins Jr. Joseph spent the day in Hope Theatre giving his insight into a career in the West End, which was truly inspirational.
Joseph trained at The Royal Ballet Lower School and Laine Theatre Arts and has numerous Theatre and Ballet credits including; Pinocchio in “Shrek” (UK Tour), Swing and 2nd Cover Neleus in “Mary Poppins” (UK Tour), “Sleeping Beauty” (Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet), The Nutcracker” & “Coppelia” (Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Royal Ballet).
Deb Fletcher, Course Leader for Performing Arts said “This was a fabulous opportunity for our students and Joe has left them with West End sparkle that they will sprinkle all over their Mary Poppins performance!”
Performance Academy is delivered in partnership with leading theatre, performance and dance organisations and universities from across the North West, and offers young people an enhanced performance programme that is much more than a just a Performing Arts qualification giving students a distinct edge over competitors.
