Organisers of the popular annual festival of words, What’s Your Story Chorley? can now announce the venues taking part in this year’s exciting event.

There will be a return to the Book Benches following the successful addition of the exciting Book Bench Trail to last year’s event. This year there will be twelve primary schools from across the borough working in conjunction with The Primary English team from Edge Hill University to produce the benches and interactive quiz. The children are designing their own book bench themed upon a book that they have been reading and also creating a quiz based on the bench and book. There will also be the opportunity on the day to be involved in designing a What’s Your Story Chorley? book bench within the town centre.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “We are delighted to once again support What’s Your Story Chorley? an annual festival of words that offers something for all the family.

“It’s great to see so many different types of venues from across the town centre supporting this fantastic free event. It is a great family fun event in a format similar to our hugely popular Chorley Live event with different contributors performing on the hour every hour at different venues across the town centre

““The popularity of this event just grows each year and will attract people into the town centre, entertain shoppers and visitors and offers something for people of all ages. It also gives local wordsmiths the chance to showcase their talent.

“We are delighted once again that we will have the return of the Book Bench Trail that proved so popular at last year’s event. The benches will again be scattered around town with a trail and interactive quiz to allow families to seek them out and win prizes. We also encourage people to come along to Cleveland Street to help to design a book bench which will be placed in the town centre.”
