Update on £150 energy rebate payments

West Lancashire Borough Council is pleased to confirm that it has so far paid out circa £5 million to 34,289 eligible households for the £150 council tax energy rebate.

Invites to apply for the rebate have been issued to all identified eligible households. If you are in receipt of the letter inviting you to claim, please do not delay in claiming your rebate as the deadline for submitting your details is 26 August. Further information regarding the scheme’s eligibility criteria can be found on the Council’s website at www.westlancs.gov.uk/energy

Councillor Adam Yates, portfolio holder for Resources and Transformation said: “We know how difficult the current economic situation is for so many households and we have prioritised getting these funds out to residents as quickly as possible.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our officers who have managed to deliver this complex scheme quickly along with full support for our residents.”

Please note: we will never contact customers over the telephone or visit them to ask for personal or bank details. All correspondence in relation to the energy rebate will come from West Lancashire Borough Council. If you are in any doubt about the legitimacy of a letter or communication you receive, you should contact Customer Services via portal.westlancs.gov.uk/selfserve.
