Christmas Fixtures

United begin the countdown to Christmas with a home fixture against Leek Town on Tuesday 13th December, the game at the Burscough Community Stadium sees the visit of the Derbyshire outfit, who sit 4th in the table.

Like everyone else they were called off on Saturday, and lost their last match 2-0 against Runcorn Linnets. They have an experienced forward line in the shape of Tim Grice and former Liverpool trainee Daniel Trickett-Smith.

United will have a new striker on show in the shape of Ste Milne, vastly experienced at this level with plenty of goals at his former clubs Bootle, Lower Breck & City of Liverpool.

Richard Brodie will be looking to his side to show a reaction after suffering a number of narrow defeats of late.

“Every game is massive at the minute and the saving grace is we look at the position of Bootle before we played them and where they are now, I believe on the day we were the better side than Bootle. But we can’t keep saying that, we have to get points, I’d rather be the worse side and pick up a 1-0 or a 2-1 or at the minute a point.”

Upcoming fixtures

United then travel to Trafford on Saturday 17th December for what will be the last game before Xmas, always a great place to visit and the warm welcome you get will no doubt make up for the inclement weather that is around.

United are then at Home on Boxing Day 26th December when we have the visit of Widnes for a crunch “derby” encounter, this is followed up by another tasty “local” at Prescot Cables on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd January, its back to Saturday action on the 7th January when we take the short trip down the M58 and a tie against former Manager Paul McNally’s City of Liverpool. All games over the Christmas period kick off at 3pm. please keep an eye on the club’s media channels for any changes.
