Skelmersdale United return to the Burscough Community Stadium this coming Saturday 12th November, when they will face Witton Albion.
United lost last week to league leaders Macclesfield 1-0 but gained many plaudits for their performance, this comes after 3 successive wins against Colne, Ramsbottom & Mossley.
Manager Richard Brodie was keen to point out “the performance against Macc was top draw from the lads each and every one put in a terrific shift on the day, Macc are not leaders and favourites to be crowned Champions for nothing. They have a number of well experienced former League pros at their disposal and with a backing of 3,000 plus supporters every week, it can get a bit intimidating at their place, but we matched them for the majority of the game. We are building up a side slowly we have acquired the services of veteran keeper Sam Ashton and pulled in youngster Harry Hagen who was previously on the books at Everton, we are still looking to strengthen in certain areas just to give us a more cutting edge”.
Witton who sit 4 points and 4 places behind United in the NPL Pitching-In West Division, are managed by former Preston & Manchester City striker Jon Macken and have lost their last two matches to Trafford & Leek.
There will be a change to next week’s fixture list, scheduled to face Leek Town they will now have Workington as their opponents on Saturday.
