A new independent Coffee shop is set to open in Skelmersdale on Saturday the 10th June, taking over the former Gloria Jeans store in the Concourse Shopping Centre.

It will be The Coffee House’s 14th store, within its growing portfolio. You can find them in Northwich, Warrington, Runcorn, Sale and Bolton, to mention a few, however, this will be their largest store to date; seating up to 100 people.

The Coffee House was first launched in 2011 in the small Cheshire village of Lymm, by two brothers, Chris and Stephen, who set out to change the way people eat, drink and relax in our local communities.

Marketing Manager, Lizzie, said: “An exciting opportunity arose in the Concourse Shopping centre which presented a gap in the market. We realised there isn’t a coffee shop like us in the centre, so we thought why not create somewhere warm and relaxing with high-quality coffee, food & cakes for the community to enjoy.”

The food and confectionary products on offer are made every day in their Warrington-based, central Production Facility before they are packaged and delivered daily to the stores.

Well-known for their speciality coffee produced in their Roastery, the ‘RoastHouse’ The Coffee House signature blend can be enjoyed in the comfort of a store or bought online to enjoy at home along with a range of loose-leaf teas, brewing equipment & accessories.

Every store follows a signature interior design, with exclusive wall murals throughout that pay homage to each location. The Skelmersdale store will boast a bespoke wooden counter, handmade by the brothers’ father, industrial-style furnishings, ambient lighting and comfortable seating to create a modern, relaxing environment.

Gary Mitchell, centre manager, said: “As the main shopping destination in Skelmersdale, it’s great to have another well-known brand on-board and in the centre. We’re looking forward to The Coffee House opening and bringing with it local jobs, and I’m confident it will get a warm welcome from the community.”

As well as its fantastic food and beverage offerings, The Coffee House has also created many new job opportunities; the newly appointed store manager Beth, said she “can’t wait to open the doors and welcome the community in for some really tasty treats!”

Refurbishment work in the store is nearing completion and is expected to be open by early June! Stay tuned for the opening date announcement very soon!
