Still time to enter Ormskirk MotorFest Concours d’Elegance

0

There is still time for owners of really high-quality cars to enter a really special contest taking place at the Ormskirk MotorFest on Sunday 27 August.

The Concours d’Elegance competition will be a major attraction at the MotorFest for the third successive year. This will see some of the most beautiful cars entered into the fantastic free motoring extravaganza line up for expert judges to cast their eye over them.

A number of vehicles have already been entered into the Concours but there is still room for a few more. MotorFest organisers are particularly looking for more cars from 1957 as part of the celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of the British Grand Prix held at Aintree.

Best in show gets the fantastic Brian Brady Trophy with class winners receiving super Solid Crystal Trophies. All entrants will receive special “Rally Plates” and a goodies bag. The 13 classes in the Concours d’Elegance will include sections for supercars, saloon cars from between 1966 and 1990 and classes for pre-second world war cars and motorcycles.

To enter your vehicle in the Concours d’Elegance please visit www.ormskirkmotorfest.com. Entry into the Concours d’Elegance costs £15.

Mike Ashcroft, chairman of Aintree Circuit Club, said: “The Concours d’Elegance shows off some of the most beautiful cars at the MotorFest in a really special way.

“Some superb vehicles are brought to the MotorFest which would be worthy winners of a Concours d’Elegance at any motoring event, and we believe this adds a great competition element. We already have some wonderful vehicles for the Concours, but would still welcome other entries for this part of the event.”

Halsall-based Carequick Ltd Air Conditioning, which specialises in building services, air conditioning and mechanical maintenance, are sponsoring the Concours de Elegance for the third successive year.

Colin Maxwell, Carequick Ltd managing director, said: “The Concours de Elegance has been a great spectacle for the last two years with some fantastic cars taking part and many people enjoying taking a close look at them. So I am delighted to be able sponsor it for a third year.”

Ormskirk MotorFest is organised by Aintree Circuit Club and supported by West Lancashire Borough Council.

Councillor John Hodson, Council portfolio holder for Planning, said: “We are really grateful to Colin at Carequick for sponsoring the Concours d’Elegance, which is just one of many superb attractions being lined up for a really enjoyable free event for all the family.

“With so many thousands of visitors expected to come to Ormskirk for the MotorFest, we hope that town centre businesses will take advantage of this great opportunity and open up on MotorFest day.”

Cars and motorcycles not taking part in the Concours d’Elegance will also be lined up in Coronation Park and streets across Ormskirk town centre. About 300 fabulous cars and motorcycles from all eras of motoring will be in display and many of them will take part in exciting parade laps around the town centre.
