The clock is ticking but there is still time to apply for the Small Business or Retail, Leisure & Hospitality grant funds, (subject to your business being assessed as eligible).
If your business was in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief or is classed as a Retail, Leisure or Hospitality business, prior to 11 March 2020 then we urge you to check your eligibility and apply for a grant.
We are currently in the final stages of completing the programme, and we are welcoming applications up until midnight of 28 August 2020. Please note if you have already received a grant from us you cannot re-apply.
So far we have supported nearly 1,900 West Lancashire businesses with a total of more than £21 million in grants. These grants have been vital to our local economy – helping ensure the survival of shops, cafes, hotels, restaurants and many other companies.
Councillor Adam Yates, portfolio holder for Resources and Transformation, said: “We are really pleased we have been able to support the local economy by helping so many local businesses through the pandemic. As there is still some funding available, please visit the Council’s website to check if your business is eligible.”
To check eligibility and to apply please visit www.westlancs.gov.uk/businessgrants. Businesses who make successful applications will receive their grant within ten working days of contacting us.
We are working with other local authorities to lobby central government to relax their strict allocation criteria and then allow us to allocate the remaining unclaimed funds to businesses throughout West Lancashire and not return the monies to central government.
