Monaco, the most prestigious race on the F1 world tour, the glitz and the glamour that surrounds this Grand Prix is legendary as all the big name F1 fans are out in force during this weekend.
Arguably the most expensive grid on the calendar as even the Royal Family of Monaco visit this incredible race. With all the rumours and speculation surrounding the calendar so far this year, even Monaco is not safe from the peril of being taken from the calendar in the future. There are those who feel Monaco is outdated and should be taken from the calendar whereas there are those who feel that Monaco should remain on the calendar due to its “legendary” status. They feel that the calendar would not be complete without the Monaco GP.
Motorsport Central would like to know your views on this, but for now the focus is on qualifying for the Monaco GP.
So far, it has been Lewis Hamilton controlling proceedings, being fastest in FP1 and FP2 with a surprise from the Toro Rosso driver Max Verstappen who took P2 in FP1. Toro Rosso could once again outshine their sister team of Red Bull. Tomorrows FP3 may give us more of an idea of what may happen in qualifying, however there is also the possibility that the other drivers may have been “sandbagging” meaning they may have been hiding their true pace until it really matters. Only time will tell.

One To Watch: Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr
My “One To Watch” choice for Monaco is both Toro Rosso drivers as they have been showing promising pace all season so far and once again could possibly outrace their sister team Red Bull, especially with Max taking P2 in FP1.
