The Covers are on in Derbyshire
Skelmersdale United travel to deepest Derbyshire on Saturday (10th Dec) to take on Glossop North End and Manager Richard Brodie is looking for a response from his players.
“We’re losing by the odd goal, one goal and the goals that we’re conceding are awful, they’re mistakes, I feel like I keep repeating myself about consistency but we’re at this level for a reason players, because we’re not consistent enough. If we eradicate or minimise the mistake, these defeats by one goal becomes draws then there’s a chance to win games of football.”
Glossop are just a point better off in the Northern Premier League – West table having picked up just 1 point in their last six games, Brodie continued “we need to make these games pay, they came here a few months back and were lucky in their victory we fought hard on the day and we will need to do it again”.
The covers have been placed on the pitch ahead of the game, with expectant frost set to settle around the Peak District, United supporters should keep an eye on the club’s media channels in relation to the weather situation.
Supporters are reminded that although Glossop is just 49 miles and travelling time just over an hour, there is always a backlog of traffic as you exit the M67 and the journey time for the last 10 miles can take 45 minutes – Please don’t leave it too late!!!!
