Skelmersdale u3a enjoyed a talk about the old Lakeland Lines. It was shocking to realise just how little of the vast network is left and some of the major obstacles which now exist if they were to be reinstated. There were many humorous incidents when inspecting the routes. We will meet again in Skelmersdale Library on Thursday 15 September at 2pm with Michelle Beaver with her adventures in fund raising for the Liverpool Heart and Chest unit titled ‘Nursing – A work of Heart’.

Our u3a continues to attract new members and we have now as many members we had before Covid, which is very pleasing. We still need more members. We have very active walking and bowls groups, as well as our popular twice monthly Monday Coffee Afternoon.

We now have an interesting programme for the next 6 months from wildlife to volunteering. Come and join us.
