Skelmersdale Police Operation Fleece update

It’s been another busy week for Target Team Officers engaged on Op Fleece.

On Monday whilst conducting patrols on High Street, Old Skem, Target Team Officers stopped/searched and subsequently arrested 2 males, aged 27 and 21, on suspicion of burglary and for weapons and drugs offences.
The males, who can’t be named for legal reasons, have been released under investigation.

On Wednesday afternoon Target Team Officer’s patrolling Old Skem stopped/searched and subsequently arrested 2 males, aged 38 and 26, on Sherrat Street, on suspicion of being concerned in supplying Class A drugs. The males, one from Skem one from Liverpool, were in custody overnight whilst searches were conducted at their home addresses, they’ve also been released under investigation.

Police have also reported several people for theft and minor drugs offences as the result of proactive stop checks.

The team will continue its work in Skem specifically targeting knife crime, we will conduct patrols in the coming weeks and anyone found in possession of offensive weapons will be dealt with accordingly.
