Get online with Learn My Way (Skelmersdale) #digiskills

Monday, 9 September 2019 from 10:00 – 12:00

Every Monday from 10am during term time only

Free 6 week course at your local Library

Free help to get online and learn a number of different skills which could include, using the mouse and keyboard, searching the web safely, applying for jobs completing on-line forms, using email, finding free entertainment, follow your hobbies, using public services and your library online.

These courses uses the short Learn My Way online modules that you choose to meet your requirements with 1:1 support from library staff, Lancashire Adult Learning and volunteers. The courses are self-directed and interactive and allows people to progress at their own pace with support.  You can also bring your tablet or laptop along and access this course using the Library’s free Wi-Fi.  Once you have enrolled, if you have a computer at home you can access the modules in your own time.

We provide bite-size courses and one to one help. It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never used a computer, we can help you! There are also follow on courses you can access if you wish to.

This is a free event, but places are limited, so advance booking is essential

This is a 6 week course of 2 hour sessions. Please ensure you can attend all sessions before registering.

Adult Scrabble Club (Skelmersdale)

Craft Circle (Skelmersdale)

Thursday, 12 September 2019 from 14:00 – 15:30 at Skelmersdale Library every Thursday from 2pm

Come and enjoy yourself. Share your skill with other crafters or learn that craft you have always wanted to try. Have you that unfinished item that you want help with? Bring it a long. There are also knitting needles and wool available if needed.

Toddler Rhyme Time (Skelmersdale)

Friday, 13 September 2019 from 10:00 – 10:30 at Skelmersdale Library every Friday from 10am – term time only

Sing-along songs and rhymes with movement and actions for pre-school children from around 18 months upwards. Rhyming is more than just fun, it actually helps young children make connections between sounds and words, encouraging their language development plus the actions help develop motor skills. It will keep your toddler entertained and engaged in learning!

Baby Bounce and Rhyme (Skelmersdale)

Enjoy lively sing-along songs, gentle movements and rhymes with your baby, plus meet and chat with other parents and carers. Suitable for babies up to around 18 months of age.

Quiet Hour (Skelmersdale)

We are pleased to welcome you to come along and enjoy a quiet hour in a calm environment while we make your visit as comfortable as possible. Browse the books, sit and read a story, or use our Public Computers and free WiFi as normal – with a little less noise than usual. During this time there will be no events planned, we will be muting our staff computers and dimming the lights slightly.

Lego Master Builders (Skelmersdale)

Calling all Lego master builders come and get creative at Skelmersdale Library every Saturday during term time 2:00pm till 3:30pm.

Drop in for a while or stay and join in the fun! Children aged 5-12 welcome, must be accompanied by an adult. No booking required.

This is a non-bookable event, don’t get a ticket, just turn up on the day.

Please note, you do not need tickets for this event. Registering for a ticket will not guarantee you a place and no updates about the event will be emailed to you.
