D-Day 75 (Skelmersdale)

Monday, 27 May 2019 from 09:00 – 19:00

This year is the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, one of the most remarkable Allied wartime operations. Veterans from Skelmersdale Veterans Association will be here in the library with a display of WW2 artefacts. The veterans will also place ‘Silent Soldiers’ in the library. This will be a great opportunity to meet local veterans, and to pay tribute to those brave men and women who paid the ultimate price and did not return home.

Sharing Stories with Stay and Play (Skelmersdale)

Tuesday, 28 May 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00

Come along for a thirty minute storytime for pre-school children and carers sharing the fun and learning through wonderful stories. Followed by ‘stay and play’ activities including big blocks, jigsaws and parachute rhyming songs.

All pre-school children and carers welcome.

On Tuesday every week from 10am to 11am

Toddler Rhyme Time (Skelmersdale)

Friday, 31 May 2019 from 10:00 – 10:30 at Skelmersdale Library every week – term time only

Sing-along songs and rhymes with movement and actions for pre-school children from around 18 months upwards. Rhyming is more than just fun, it actually helps young children make connections between sounds and words, encouraging their language development plus the actions help develop motor skills. It will keep your toddler entertained and engaged in learning!

Quiet Hour (Skelmersdale)

We are pleased to welcome you to come along and enjoy a quiet hour in a calm environment while we make your visit as comfortable as possible. Browse the books, sit and read a story, or use our Public Computers and free WiFi as normal – with a little less noise than usual. During this time there will be no events planned, we will be muting our staff computers and dimming the lights slightly.
