A new coffee shop has opened its doors at The Concourse Shopping Centre, in Skelmersdale today (July 31, 2020), with Siesta Coffee bringing its brand to the town.

Located on the ground floor of the shopping centre, adjacent to the pizza giant Domino’s, it is the fourth Siesta Coffee shop to open in the north of England.

Ryan Stainsby and his father Gary, directors of Siesta Coffee, said they are excited to bring the brand to Skelmersdale, complementing its existing coffee shops in Newton Aycliffe, Bootle New Strand Station in Liverpool, and Peterlee.

“Siesta Coffee is proud to open a further store in the Concourse Shopping Centre Skelmersdale,” said Ryan.

“Having looked at various sites in the region it was clear to see that Skelmersdale would enjoy the Siesta Coffee Brand as there is nothing like it in the area. The centre was an ideal choice for us, especially the corner location in which we are now sited. We look forward to serving the people of Skelmersdale for many years to come and hope Siesta Coffee is embraced as it is in other locations.”

Gary Mitchell, centre manager, added: “It’s been an incredibly challenging year for retailers so far, so it’s good news for the local community that we are welcoming our newest tenant to the Concourse Shopping Centre, on top of the growing retail offer here.”

The news of Siesta Coffee’s arrival comes as the centre is also preparing to welcome a new cinema. Star Cinemas, which operates screens in California and Arizona, is to deliver an affordable cinema on the ground floor of the centre to further extend the diverse retail and leisure offering available there. It is hoping to open later this year.

Siesta Coffee agreed a 10-year lease for unit 110, a 1343 sq ft space with LCP, which manages the Concourse Shopping Centre.
