The 61st Holy Trinity Scout Group has kindly raised £165 for the Southport and Ormskirk Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrine Fund. The Scouts sold raffle tickets and cakes for the charity, which supports children with diabetes.
Dr May Ng, Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust set up the fund 10 years ago for essential learning and teaching materials for patients and families, and for the team to hold regular education sessions for families of children with diabetes.
The Southport and Ormskirk Paediatric diabetes team cares for 150 children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby. Dr Ng and her team have won many national awards for their innovative approaches to patient support.
The team will be holding a charity ball at Hurlston Hall on May 1 to raise further funds, and welcome any contributions towards raffles prizes. To purchase tickets or make donations, please email Judy.email@example.com or call 01695 656163.
