Ride for Willowbrook

Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot is organising a 45-mile cycle challenge for keen cyclists also keen to raise money for a deserving charity.

The hospice has spent more than 20 years providing free palliative care for thousands of people in Knowsley and St Helens. With just a modest contribution from the NHS, the hospice relies highly on their own and the public’s fundraising efforts to continue providing their specialist care and support to patients and their families.

The hospice’s cycle challenge, Ride 45, is in its fifth year and is a great opportunity for you to enjoy some beautiful local countryside, keep fit and raise much-needed funds.

This year’s Ride 45 takes place on Sunday 15 July with the ride starting from Rainford High Technology College at 8am. Over 14s can take part and under 16s must be accompanied by someone over 18 to take part.

Organiser and Willowbrook Fundraiser, Carl Davies, said: “As in previous years, Ride 45 draws cyclists from all over the North West. The ride is for people of all abilities and is a great challenge to take part in – whether you’re an experienced rider or a weekend cyclist. Every penny our cyclists raise will go towards helping Willowbrook Hospice to continue to care and support our patients and their families across St Helens and Knowsley.”

You can register online, call 01744 453798 or visit the fundraising office, The Living Well, on Borough Road, St Helens WA10 3RN. There is a £20 registration fee.
