Recycling centre improvements complete

0

Woolston Community Recycling Centre is set to re-open to the public, following the completion of major improvement works.

The recycling centre will re-open on Wednesday 21 November, following a refurbishment project which is providing higher quality recycling services for local people, as well as enabling Warrington to meet current environmental permitting standards.

Warrington Borough Council’s investment has seen the site extended to provide greater capacity for receiving waste and to create a better flow of traffic. Other improvements include resurfacing, renewed perimeter fencing, and upgraded lighting and security systems.

The refurbished recycling centre will operate under normal working hours of 10am to 4pm.

The project is part of a £1.8m investment in community recycling services, which is also seeing major improvements being made at Gatewarth Community Recycling Centre, to bring it up to the required standards and which are due for completion in March 2019.
