Recognition for Lancashire County Council’s apprentices and professional trainees

A special reception has been held by Lancashire County Council to recognise some of their new professional trainees and apprentices.

The event, held at County Hall in Preston, recognised the latest group who have completed education and training programmes, linked to the county council’s services.

Those who attended the event had studied areas such as business administration, electrical installation, construction and civil engineering, health and social care, and AAT accountancy qualifications.

Margaret Brindle, Chairman of the county council, hosted the event in recognition of the apprentice and professional trainees’ achievements.

County Councillor Brindle said: “We’ve had 80 people graduating this year from their apprenticeships and professional traineeships. On behalf of the council, I’d like to congratulate them for what they’ve achieved so far.

“Their newly-gained skills will be used to provide high quality services for Lancashire people, while also providing them with knowledge and experience that will stay with them throughout the rest of their careers.

“Some of these people have been studying for up to four years, dependent on their roles. This shows the expertise that we have within the county council, and the commitment of our learning and development team in supporting this scheme.

The county council has always strongly supported the provision of trainee and apprenticeship development.”
