Proteus Facades, the leading designer and manufacturer of rainscreen cladding systems for building envelopes, based in Skelmersdale, is celebrating winning four awards, including the highly coveted Project of the Year, at the 2020 UK Façade Awards.
Organised by Roofing, Cladding & Insulation (RCI) magazine, the highly respected industry trade journal, the awards took place during a glittering virtual ceremony on Friday 11th February.
During the event, which was held to recognise the very best in façade design across the UK and to promote the creative and innovative use of products or materials, Proteus Facades won:
- The Best Refurbishment Project Award and the Project of the Year Award for a Proteus SC Verdigris green perforated façade installed by Chemplas on the redevelopment of Spanish City, Whitley Bay.
- Best use of a Rainscreen System Using Stainless Steel alongside Deane Roofing & Cladding for a mirrored Proteus SC façade at Northampton International Academy.
- Best use of Rainscreen Using a Specialist Metal for a bespoke Proteus SC perforated brass façade installed by Cladanco at the new Mulberry Park Community Hub development in Bath.
For each project, Proteus Facades designed and fabricated the bespoke building envelope system based on the client’s requirements; before each one was fixed in place by each respective installation partner, all of whom also took home an award for their work.
Lee Caffrey, Managing Director of Proteus Facades, comments: “We are thrilled to have been crowned winner of not one, but four Façade Awards and that our work with Spanish City was chosen as the highly esteemed Project of the Year. We would like to thank our installation partners and especially our team, who always put a great deal of effort and dedication into ensuring our projects are completed to the highest standards. We were shortlisted alongside a number of fantastic businesses and striking developments, so winning these awards is testament to the hard work, skills and innovation of our team and partner installers.”
