Students were recognised for demonstrating various skills, achievements, and behaviours, including for citizenship, outstanding technical and academic skills, representing the college as a Student Ambassador, outstanding entrepreneurial work, outstanding work experience and contribution to diversity.

Over one hundred nominations were received from tutors and staff across the college and were judged by the Principal.

Students, their parents, and families attended the ceremony, which was held in the college’s Sports Hall, decked out with a prestigious marquee, and were presented with certificates, trophies and vouchers by Denise Williamson, Principal, alongside Mark Whitworth, Chair of the college Board and CEO of Peel Ports.

Denise Williamson, Principal at West Lancashire College said “It was a fantastic evening and a wonderful opportunity to meet all the students, in person, who have been recognised for their outstanding performance whilst at West Lancashire College. I would like to thank our amazing parents as well as the fabulous teaching and support staff for their continuous encouragement and support which has helped our students on their post 16 journey.

Congratulations to our class of 2022 who have achieved remarkable things, I am enormously proud of all of them and very much look forward to hearing about their future progression.”
