PRESTWICH HEYS

Skelmersdale United travel to Prestwich Heys this coming Saturday (15th January), and will go to their hosts cock-a hoop after finally picking up the North West Counties “Club of the Month” award for November (pictured) and demolishing Burscough 4-1. Paul McNally’s men have gone 16 games with just one defeat.

They wont have it all their own way at Heys, who despite being in the lower reaches of the table, recently beat Macclesfield at their Adie Moran Park Ground and in midweek they came away from Irlam with a convincing 4-1 win, in Jack Coop they have a proven goalscorer who has netted 26 times this season.

United have their own “Hotshots” with Mikey Howard, 20 goals, backed up with Elliott Morris 15 and Danny Mitchley on 10, if there is a free kick on the edge of the box Kenny Strickland has proved he can find the back of the net, so United have plenty of firepower in their locker.

If results go in United favour it could see them at the top of the table come Saturday night, Paul McNally is urging supporters to get down and give the players their backing “The support last week was tremendous, it really does spur the lads on, that was more than evident against Burscough”.

The game at Prestwich kicks off at 3pm
