Welcome to Matt Potter, the new man at the helm at Skelmersdale United, after being demoted from the Northern Premier League at the end of last season, United will be back in the North West Counties, Chairman Gordon Johnson is delighted to announce the new man in charge.

Matt joins from AFC Liverpool, he was appointed manager at the start of 2022, after spending 4 years working with the club, first as coach and as Asst Manager to Chris Anderson.

Previously worked full time for the FA as part of the FA Skills Programme in Liverpool. Management experience in West Cheshire League and Cheshire Premier League (both Step 7) and previously Head Coach for The FA’s North West Futsal Centre of Excellence, developing players into the England National Teams. 1st team coach positions held at Evo-Stik.

Matt has worked for six years at the FA. He delivers FA Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses and also Futsal level 1. He has completed the course for the UEFA A Licence and has a degree in coaching (BSc hons Coaching for Performance).

Matt takes over from Richard Brodie who joined neighbours Burscough a few weeks ago. We welcome Matt and look forward to the coming campaign.
