Council Independents, Our West Lancashire are calling on residents to consider planting a tree in memory of a loved one and as a sign of hope in the future.

Cllr Jane Thompson said, “It’s tree planting season – National Tree Planting Week starts on Saturday.  I’m meeting council officers that week along with another Our West Lancashire councillor to discuss options for tree planting on council land. We’ve also promoted the idea of a West Lancashire community woodland.”

“One keen Our West Lancashire member has already planted a cherry tree this month which should be flourishing for decades to come – long after this pandemic is a distant memory.  Not everyone has space for a tree, but if you do, why not plant a tree this winter in memory of a loved one and as a sign of better times to come.”
