From next week, people will need to pay to park at three city centre car parks in Preston.
New parking charges will be introduced from Monday (28 October) for the Registration Office and Lancashire Archives car parks, and from Saturday 2 November for weekend parking on the Arthur Street car park.
Use of the Registration Office and Lancashire Archives car parks will continue to be restricted to visitors and people using those services.
Weekend parking on the Arthur Street car park will be available to members of the public.
The charging structure for the three car parks will be consistent with other county council parking provision in the city centre. The fees will be competitive compared to other car parks in the city centre.
New signs and payment machines have been installed at the three car parks in preparation for the introduction of the charges.
If you prefer cashless payment, the RingGo App and RingGo Phone Service options will be available. Visit www.ringgo.co.uk for more information.
The decision was made earlier this year to introduce these fees due to the council experiencing increased costs and service demand pressures.
