The Northern political and business leaders who make up the TfN Board will be asked to consider the appointment of Lord Patrick McLoughlin as the new TfN Partnership Board and Board Chair. He has been put forward by the Appointment Panel as the preferred candidate and, if approved, would start in post on 26 January 2022.
Members will also use the meeting to speak with ‘one voice’ on the region’s reaction to the Integrated Rail Plan, looking at an initial report from TfN on its ongoing analysis; the implications on the transition and co-sponsor arrangements for Northern Powerhouse Rail; and the approach to the Transport Select Committee inquiry next month.
Also to be discussed is TfN’s budget and business planning for FY 2022/23, as well as:
- Rail investment and business planning
- Union Connectivity Review
- Strategic Transport Plan policy development
The meeting is open to the public and the media (exceptions for private items) and will be streamed live online.
