Restructuring work has begun on the atrium at The Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale as it prepares to welcome a new occupier.

Work began last week, which will see the construction of a new unit in the atrium. Adever has been appointed to carry out the construction works, which are expected to be completed in the spring. The new occupier should open its doors in the summer.

Gary Mitchell, manager of The Concourse Centre, which is owned and managed by Skelmersdale Limited Partnership, apologised for the disruption for the necessary works, saying that the contractor had agreed to undertake any excessively noisy or dusty work between 4am-10am.

“We apologise that the works, which will be ongoing for the next few weeks, are causing a disruption for our existing tenants and customers, but we are committed to making improvements here for the benefit of the local community, providing our customers with a great experience when they come shopping here,” he said.

“We are undertaking these necessary structural works to make way for a new occupier and are looking forward to unveiling the new unit and welcoming an exciting new tenant that is keen to bring its brand to Skelmersdale in due course.”
