Witnesses sought after man stabbed in Skelmersdale

Lancashire Police are appealing for information following an assault in Skelmersdale.

We were called at around 2:15 pm on Friday 20th July to reports a man had been stabbed on Carfield.

The man – in his 30s – suffered a stab wound to his shoulder and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

DC Andy Gill of Skelmersdale Police said: “This has happened in broad daylight and has caused serious injury to the victim.

“Our investigation is ongoing and we’re urging anyone with any information at all to please speak to us immediately, if they haven’t already.”

A 43-year-old man from Skelmersdale has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and has been released on bail. He has been bailed to 17th August.
