Questions on Skelmersdale and Ormskirk town centres; recycling; transport in the Borough and the future of leisure centres are posed by residents at the Borough council meeting next week.

Our West Lancashire councillor, Adrian Owens offered to ask questions on behalf of residents as currently the council does not run a public question time in the same way that Preston, Burnley, Rossendale, Hyndburn and Lancaster do.

Cllr Owens said, “Our West Lancashire is committed to putting residents first and foremost and the questions we have received are excellent.  On recycling for example, a resident has pointed out that the council’s guidance is not very clear and that many recyclable plastics are currently going to landfill which could be recycled with clearer guidance.”

“The response from residents to our call for questions shows how the council could reach better decisions if residents were more involved.”
