Tricia Lorenz, a patient at the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, today (Saturday 21st January 2017) married partner of four years, Steve McEntee at the centre.

Tricia, from Wrexham, has been a patient at the centre (based at Southport hospital) for seven months following a medical procedure in March 2016 that left her paralysed and on a ventilator. Steve proposed to her shortly after and today they were surrounded by family and friends as they said their vows. Staff from the spinal unit where Tricia has been receiving care, were also there to join in the celebrations. Guests were serenaded by KD Taggart, a regular singer in Tricia and Steve’s local in Frodsham, Kash 22.

Special permission from the registrar was given for the couple to marry in the centre’s day room and generous suppliers to the Trust donated the food free of charge.

Tricia commented: “We’ve had such a lovely day, Steve and I would like to say thank you to all the staff who have made our wedding possible, and to our family and friends who have travelled here to be with us.”

Tricia continues to receive care at the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, however, new husband Steve is supervising the adaptation of his home in Frodsham so it is suitable for Tricia to join him when she is able to.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
