Organisers of the popular Chorley Live event can now announce the venues taking part in this year’s live entertainment extravaganza, with wristbands now available to purchase at just £5.
Chorley Council has teamed up once again with The Creative Network to hold the weekend event which has proved to be a massive hit for the last four years bringing over 9,000 people into the town over the two days last year.
There will again be new venues taking part in Chorley Live including Lost bar and restaurant, The Emporium, The Flat Iron, and Cunliffe Hall. There will be a variety of venues that will ensure that the event will again have its distinctive community feel.
Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “Chorley Live has been a huge success over the last three years and we want to make it even bigger and better this year.
“We have a number of new venues yet again this year along with the regular core of venues that support the event and we are really looking forward to seeing the turnout and how people enjoy the different performances in such a wide variety of locations across the town centre.
“It’s particularly good to see a couple of new businesses taking part and I hope this will give them a great start to life in Chorley.
“The event will not only boost our local economy and improve trade in Chorley businesses, but it will also attract more of the public into Chorley to enjoy the nightlife and see everything Chorley has to offer with entertainment for all ages and families.”
The wristbands that will enable people to gain entry to all the venues over both days are now on sale from all the acts and also the venues, with the exception of the Town Hall, but can be purchased from the Union Street offices instead. Wristbands cost £5, with children under 12 having free access with adults.
Nigel Stewart, of the Creative Network and who will be organising the acts, said the event brings the town centre alive at night.
“It’s fantastic to see how many businesses are happy to offer themselves as venues, and how it’s bringing companies together to show they are willing to get involved with the event and promote the town.
“The venues are already excited for the event and how much interest there is already across Chorley. We are expecting wristbands to sell very well again and that’s not surprising at just £5 for a wristband for 8 performances – you get so much for your money.
“The performers will also be selling wristbands and it’s going to be a great opportunity for performers to get out there and show off their talents to new faces and followers.
“We have had a great response for people wanting to perform which is testament to how popular the event has become, the aim is to break the 10,000 barrier this year which is phenomenal for just the fifth year of the event.”
