St Helens Council’s Sports Development team would like to congratulate all the schools who played in the Year 6 schools Kwik Cricket Tournament at Ruskin Drive.
Organised by the School Games Officer, Damien Keegan – in partnership with Lancashire County Cricket, the tournament allowed the younger cricketers of St Helens to showcase their talents in a fun and competitive environment under the watch full eye of coaches from Lancashire Cricket Club.
With 18 teams registered, over 150 youngsters played matches throughout the day and following the keenly contested group matches, Bleak Hill Primary and Legh Vale Primary schools emerged as the finalists with Bleak Hill being crowned champions.
As winners, Bleak Hill Primary School progress to the Lancashire Cricket Club Kwik Cricket finals and St Helens Council’s Sports Development team wish all the players the best of luck as they represent the borough later this month.
Lancashire Cricket Coach, Chris Chambers said “The St Helens Year 6 Kwik Cricket Tournament is always a brilliant event, with some high class performances on display and played within the spirit of the game.”
