The Morrison’s Foundation supports charities making a positive difference in local communities. Since launching in 2015 they have donated over £18m to help good causes across England, Scotland and Wales.

They award grants for charity projects which improve people’s lives and match fund the money that Morrison’s colleagues raise for their chosen charities.

Sporting Challenge are a family led charity supporting people with learning disabilities, where all members of the Board of Trustees are parents and carers themselves.

The charity aims to provide sporting activities to encourage people with learning disabilities to keep fit and healthy. Their activities include: Aerobics, Bowling, Boccia, Kurling, Zumba/Dance, Swimming and other Fitness Activities.

They support around 52 people in the West Lancashire area to access a variety of activities by providing transport to and from their homes and the appropriate sessional workers to support them whilst carrying out the activities.

Edward McCarthy Sporting Challenge Activities Organiser said: “On behalf of Sporting Challenge I wish to thank the Morrison’s Foundation for this fantastic funding award. It will make a huge difference and help us fund our Short Break to Castle Head Activities Centre later in the year. Our group really enjoyed a similar break last year.”

“Our numbers are growing. Our group really make a difference. If you want to know more information get in touch call 07971 299606 or email EdwardatEMSS@gmail.com.”
