Sign up and pay for Borough Council garden waste collection service for 2019/20

0

Spring is in the air and with many of us busy in the garden, the Borough Council is reminding West Lancashire residents that they can sign up and pay for its chargeable garden waste collection service for 2019/20 via the website at www.westlancs.gov.uk/gardenwaste.

To guarantee no interruption in service, residents who are currently subscribed should sign up again by 17 May 2019. The cost of the service remains the same this year and further information including prices for additional bins is available online.  New customers can sign up at any time and purchase their brown bin online and have it delivered ready for their collections to start on 3 June 2019.

Residents who do have a brown bin and sign up are being asked to put their house number in the white square on the front of their bin to make sure it can be clearly identified and  their subscription validated by the collection staff using the data on board the vehicle.

Heidi McDougall, Director of Leisure and Environment, said: “Spring is here and with summer just around the corner, many of us will be busy in the garden over the coming months. As well as enjoying the benefits of the service, residents who sign up and pay can also help minimise the amount of waste going to landfill and contribute towards protecting the environment.”

Residents who are unable to sign up online with a payment card may wish to ask a family member to help or they can contact Customer Services to seek further advice and assistance on how to make a payment.

Those who decide not to use the service will be able to dispose of garden waste at household waste recycling centres, or compost it.
