Service being held to remember those killed on the roads

0

People are invited to a special service to remember victims of road traffic collisions being held in November.

The World Day of Remembrance Service is one of thousands being held across the globe to support the families and friends of people killed on the roads, and honour the work of the emergency services. It was started in 1993 by UK-based charity RoadPeace which is dedicated to supporting people bereaved and injured in road traffic collisions.

The Lancashire Road Safety Partnership multi faith service is open to all who have been bereaved or injured through road traffic collisions. The short service will be followed by a chance for family members and attendees to lay flowers at the RoadPeace memorial stone. It will be attended by Lancashire County Council’s chairman, representatives from the police, fire and ambulance services, and multi-faith representatives.

The service will be held from 11.30am to 1.30pm on Sunday 17 November 2019 at the chapel in Christ Church Precinct, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, PR1 8RL.

If you would like to attend and receive details about the service, directions and free parking please email safertravelteam@lancashire.gov.uk.
