Local people can soon have a sneak peek at Chorley’s new residential village, Primrose Gardens, which is due to be completed in March 2019.
A show apartment will be open to the public from Monday 26 – Friday 30 November to the rear of the development next to the job centre.
The new development is on Fleet Street in Chorley and will be housing with care for those aged 55 and over.
Councillor Jane Fitzsimons, Executive Member for Homes and Housing said: “Primrose Gardens is an exciting new development in Chorley and will provide accessible and modern accommodation for those aged 55 and above.
“The village is an Extra Care Scheme which aims to promote independence and social integration whilst catering to care needs.
“We have already had a lot of people show interest in the accommodation and we’re looking forward to showing people a preview of what the apartments will look like.”
The development is part of the local authorities’ town centre masterplan, which includes the recently opened Inspire Youth Zone and the Market Walk extension.
There will be 65 apartments comprising 48 one bedroom and 17 two bedroom homes, and all residents will have the peace of mind that 24 hour emergency and planned care will be provided on site. The development is located right next to a doctors and a chemist and is just a few minutes’ walk into the centre of town.
Primrose Gardens will also accommodate a café, a hairdressers and a dance hall which will all be open to the public.
The show apartment will be open to the public from Monday 26 – Friday 30 November, 10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm. The entrance to the show home is located on Hamilton Road next to the job centre.
