A nurse is due to appear in court today charged with the murder of three hospital patients. Greater Manchester Police last night charged Victorino Chua, 48, in connection with the contamination of medical products at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, in 2011.
Mr Chua, from Stockport, has been charged in connection with the deaths of Tracey Arden, 44, Arnold Lancaster, 71, and Derek Weaver, 83.
Mr Chua has also been charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, 22 counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and eight offences of attempting to administer poison, under the Offences Against the Person Act.
Mr Chua will appear at Manchester City Magistrates Court.
