If you are looking for a new home in Hesketh Bank or Burscough, keep an eye out for new affordable homes that will soon be available to rent and buy.

West Lancashire Borough Council has been working with the Regenda Group to develop 14 new properties for affordable rent and sale in Hesketh Bank on Chapel Road, adjacent to the Methodist Church. The new homes are expected to be completed in May 2017.

There will be four two–bedroom houses and four three-bedroom houses available for shared ownership sale through Redwing Living, who are a part of the Regenda Group.  Six two-bedroom apartments will also be available for rent.

The Council has nomination rights for the rental apartments, and initial preference will be given to households with a local connection to the Hesketh Bank area.

The Council has also negotiated an arrangement with Taylor Wimpey Homes to provide five two-bedroomed houses for affordable rent on a development at Delph Drive in Burscough, which are expected to be completed between April and May 2017.

Regenda Homes, who will acquire these houses, will own and manage them. The Council has nomination rights for three of the homes; the remaining two homes will be allocated directly by Regenda Homes, who can be contacted on 0344 7360066.

Councillor Jennifer Patterson, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Inclusion, said: “The Council has made a commitment to providing affordable housing. The development of these homes is another example of how we are delivering that promise to people in our communities. These developments will provide much needed affordable homes for our Borough.”

Martin Davies, Regenda’s Director of Development, said: “We are pleased to be working with West Lancashire Borough Council and to acquire and develop new homes for affordable rent and sale. We are thrilled that these properties are nearing completion and will meet an affordable housing need in the borough.”

The rented apartments in Hesketh Bank and the three new homes in Burscough will be advertised on HomeFinder, the Council’s choice based letting scheme. You will need to be registered with HomeFinder so you can bid for properties. Information on how to register for HomeFinder is also available on the website www.westlancshomefinder.co.uk. If you are interested in these properties, please check the website regularly as they will be advertised soon.
