MotorFest star cars line up for big preview display

A fantastic line-up of cars will be on show in Ormskirk town centre on Saturday 8 July for a mouthwatering preview of what people are likely to see at one of the biggest free family events in the North West.

Ormskirk MotorFest 2017 takes place on Sunday 27 August and thousands of people will visit Ormskirk to see more than 300 cars and motorcycles from all eras of motoring on display in Coronation Park and Ormskirk town centre.

People will be given a taste of what this year’s MotorFest will have to offer when a selection of competition and classic vehicles are displayed on Moorgate close to the Queens Head to officially launch the countdown to Ormskirk MotorFest 2017. This display is organised every year to preview the MotorFest and to support National Motorsport Week. It helped Aintree Circuit Club win National Motorsport Week’s best club display for three successive years.

Ormskirk MotorFest is organised each year by Aintree Circuit Club with the support of West Lancashire Borough Council.

Councillor John Hodson, whose Cabinet responsibilities include the Ormskirk MotorFest, said: “There will be some marvellous vehicles on display in Ormskirk on Saturday 8 July, and this line-up is a great way of giving people a glimpse of what they could see at the MotorFest. Make sure you put the date of Sunday 27 August in your diary so you don’t miss the fantastic free Ormskirk MotorFest.

“With so many thousands of visitors expected to come to Ormskirk for the MotorFest, we hope that town centre businesses will take advantage of this great opportunity and open up on MotorFest day.”

Mike Ashcroft, Aintree Circuit Club chairman, said: “We are planning some great attractions to make the MotorFest a great day out for all the family. The Concours de Elegance competition will once again see some of the really top class vehicles at the MotorFest in a special display in Coronation Park.”

If you have a vintage, classic, competition or exciting car or motorcycle that you would like to display at the MotorFest, and or the Concours de Elegance please go to www.ormskirkmotorfest.com.

Organisers are still looking for sponsors to help with this year’s event. If you are interested then please contact Colin Brady, Technical Services Manager, at colin.brady@westlancs.gov.uk or on 01695 585125.

The Ormskirk MotorFest links in with the Ormskirk Town Centre Strategy, one of the aims of which is to have more events in Ormskirk town centre.
